nanowrimo, never-ending tbr, & fall!

Hi, guys! Emily here. As most of you probably know, on Friday I confessed my busy schedule and not being able to blog much. At least… I need to take a step back to get on top of other things that my blog depends on – like reading! (If I’m not reading, I don’t have much to blog about, do I?) I’ve also been preparing for National Novel Writing Month, so the posts throughout October and some of November that I do get to write will probably be mainly updates and ramblings, but I hope you don’t mind. πŸ™‚

There are several things I want to talk about in this post. First of all: THIS!

emily

Do you see that little number up there? Do youΒ seeΒ it?? That’s 49! Forty-nine of you peoples follow me and read my silly little rambles on the internet, and for that I am very grateful. It may seem like a small number compared to other blogs, but I am proud of my little forty-nine and when we hit fifty… there will be a PARTY! (Hint hint.) So hit that subscribe button to the side (via email or bloglovin) and get going!

ALSO. NaNoWriMo. You know, that thing I talk about every year that I never seem to accomplish?? 50,000 words in the month of November? Yeah. I’m participating! … again. Perhaps this will finally be the year I reach my goal. If you want to follow my novel, I’ll be updating chapters every Sunday and Wednesday here, so hop on over.

ThenΒ there’s this tiny overflowing thing called my To-Be-Read stack. It’s taking over the world, it is. Or rather, my bedroom, which is pretty much my little bubble of a world.

emily

There are some pretty amazing books in that stack, aren’t there?? At least from what I’ve been told, that is. Divergent, Rose Under Fire, Cinder, Reached & Crossed… I’m excited to get to all of them, but school-required reading comes first. Right now I’m making my way through The Hiding Place (I’m glad to finally be reading this one) and after that The Witch of Blackbird Pond. I always forget to update my little “Reading” widget, but I’m always checking up on everyone on Goodreads, so you’ll always know what I’m reading here. (Little no-shame self promotion never hurt anybody.) πŸ˜‰

And then there’s that last thing in the title: FALL! It’s finally sweater-weather, which means 60-degree weather and planting some new fall flowers in our yard! We just planted these yesterday. I think I’m in love.

emily

Oh – and can we talk about Kiera Cass’ Happily Ever After for a moment??! If you haven’t read The Selection series yet, you need to now! I think it’s safe to say by now all my blog followers know how obsessed I am. πŸ˜€ Marlee and Carter’s story was my favorite, and the illustrations are GORGEOUS! If you want a sneak-peek, you can read the first three chapters of The Queen (Queen Amberly’s story) and a bonus epilogue to The One (America and Maxon fangirling! EEP!) here. Brooke and I are going to try to do a part two to last week’s co-post soon, so keep a look out for that.

I just noticed I have eight wonderful comments waiting for my approval and response… so I better get to that! Sorry about my lack of comment-replying. πŸ˜‰

That’s about it for today. Hope you didn’t mind my rambling and self-promo. Also, don’t forget: fifty followers, and I’ll do *something* special (not entirely sure what that is yet, but I’ll brainstorm. Maybe an international giveaway?) ONE MORE, people!

  1. Yay! Almost fifty followers!! That’s so awesome. Don’t worry :). Before you know it you’ll have 100 followers! I wish I could follow you but alas I already have ;p.
I know! So excited for our next co post!
I never mind your rambly posts :). They are some of my favorites. Its like we get a tiny glimpse in your life. πŸ™‚ ( though I usually already know about everything in your life update posts ;p).
Well I’m trying to my classes quickly so I can text you, finish my homework, go to a doctors appointmentt, and then go to youth group. Whew!

    1. YESSS ALMOST HALF A HUNDERED! I’ve already daydreamed about reaching one hundred… it seems like so far away!

Me, too. Sorry about not answering quick enough by the way. I went to take a shower and then got distracted by Girl Meets Texas – Girl Meets World. πŸ˜€ I don’t even enjoy GMW that much… I keep comparing it to Boy Meets World, and they’ve “disney-fied” it. πŸ™ And at the end, there was no definite answer! Grr.

Lol. Thanks. Yeah, you do! You basically know everything before I ever say anything on here. Honestly, other than Sydney and my family of course, you probably know the most things about the going-ons in my life. πŸ™‚

Whew, what a busy night. Have fun!

      1. Emily, can we co-run a blog on all the things wrong with GMW?
Oh wait, somebody’s already done that xD But I think it’d work.
I don’t enjoy it either, and when I saw this comment I just had to respond! My sister keeps asking me why I continue to watch it, and I’ve got two answers: I’m hoping it’ll get better…and I’m just watching it objectively πŸ˜› BMW for the win!! FEEEEEENEY
And did you know that GM Texas Part 2 uses the exact same lines as Season 2 episode 21 of Boy Meets World? Exact same episode #, exact same situation….look now I think they’re just being lazy, not trying to “reference” Boy Meets World πŸ˜›
Sorry, I’ll stop being ranty xD But at least someone agrees with me! Too many people love the show.

        1. YES THANK YOU GRACE! Finally, a true BMW fan agrees with me. πŸ™‚ I watch it for the same reasons as you. Ugh. I hate it so much but that little tiny hope it me wishes it would be better! I wish they didn’t have on Disney Channel. I feel like they made it super cheesy because it’s on Disney.
YES I noticed that, too!! Ugh.
Haha don’t worry, I loved your ranty comment. They need to make US the producers of that show, gah! πŸ˜€

          1. We should totally talk more when each episode comes out (I don’t want to take up so much in the comment section, sorry!) but I agree! You and I would serve as much better writers than those on the show. Sometimes…I feel like it’s Eric Meets Hollywood, where the writers are children xD Remember that one? Oh, one of my favorite Eric episodes. Plus teen Eric was my fave character πŸ˜›

          2. Yeah we should! We can comment back on forth on our blogs when it’s on! πŸ™‚
Oh that’s totally fine. I love it when people take up space in the comments!
YES OMG! Lol. Teen Eric was the best. After that they just made him dumb, and I hated it. Playswithsquirells was funny… for a time… but I miss the smart Eric! πŸ™

          3. Oh, you did? I didn’t get it! πŸ™ If you can re-send it that’d be good. If it messes up again it’s probably the website’s fault, I’ll have to figure out what’s wrong. XD

  2. Aww, I wish I wasn’t already following your blog on Bloglovin’ so I could get you up to fifty followers! I’ll tweet the link to your blog in hope that you get one more. πŸ˜‰

Ugh, I just posted about my busy schedule on my blog, so I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. I have a gazillion books I want to read but yet I want to write my own book for NaNoWriMo so just arghhh. Life is insane. :p

    1. Aww, Katie, you’re so sweet! Thank you! I saw your tweet. πŸ™‚

I saw that! Did my comment go through on that post?? I should double check. My computer i having issues, ugh. I feel ya. Believe me, I sooo feel you. πŸ™

  3. Oh, you think THAT is a large stack of books tbr? haha. You should see mine. It’s got at least ten books on it. So I sympathize. πŸ˜‰

    1. Lol! I believe that! Well, I do have a stack of TBR books (I think there are nine or ten) that’s been throughout the year – but THESE are the ones I’ve gotten in just the past month. I hope you get through yours, though. I don’t know what I’d do with that many!! πŸ˜€
