fictional characters who rule the world.

I have a confession to make.

I am obsessed with Myers-Briggs personality types. I could sit on the internet all day long reading about myself if I could. In fact, I HAVE. The personality types are scarily accurate. (You can read all about yourself if you take the test here.) I’ve taken it several times, and sometimes I get an ISFJ, and sometimes I get an INFJ. Most recently I was an INFJ, but I relate to both. Fun fact: INFJ’s make up only 1% of the population, so Emily here is a rare specimen.

emily

Being an IN/SJ, I love relating to people. According to several websites, this can be a bad thing, because I tend to be picky about my friends and thus have a hard time making them. WHICH – helloooo, bookworm over here – IS WHY FICTIONAL CHARACTERS MAKE MUCH BETTER FRIENDS.

In friendship it is as though INFJs are searching for a soul mate, someone who shares every facet of their passions and imagination. (x)
I’m particularly fond of these fictional peoples, because they are me and we will rule the world someday, mark my words. Some of them are ISFJs and some are INFJs but that’s okay because I get to be both, lucky me!

queen elsa from frozen

We like to hide out in our bedrooms. We have strong emotions we don’t know what to do with. And we both have to deal with pesky little sisters at times. (Both named Anna, would you look at that.)

rory gilmore from gilmore girls

Rory Gilmore is said to be both INFJ and ISFJ, just like meeeeee! She loves to read, is incredibly smart, and has great taste in boys. (HE READ JANE AUSTEN FOR HER.)

meg march from little women by louisa alcott

Fun fact: I was doing some research and Little Women is evidently a good classic book for ISFJ’s to read. I’ve been in love with this story since I was eight, and Meg has always been a favorite March sister of mine. She’s the eldest of the four (go figure, right?) and she’s very sensible.

marlin from finding nemo

You know Marlin. Marlin, Nemo’s dad?? The worry wart. The one who would do anything for his son. I can see it. Besides, he’s sarcastic and is bad at jokes and that is 100% Emily.

elizabeth bennet from pride & prejudice

Lizzie and I are one in the same. Kind of judgmental (there’s the J in ISFJ) – we all know how she treated dear Darcy at the beginning. She likes alone time, and again, she is very witty. Quick with the comebacks too. (Jane Austen is said to be an ISFJ, too! I KNEW IT.)

cinderella

I cannot see the Disney version of Cinderella, no no no. She’s much too go-with-the-flow if you ask me. But take Danielle from Ever After? Or Sam from A Cinderella Story? (Both Cinderella retellings.) I love their sassiness and hard work ethic. Their prince was never their main priority – but in the end they got him anyway right?? 🙂

kathleen kelly from you’ve got mail

Yesssss. My favorite movie. *swoon* She owns a bookstore, has a hard time standing up for herself (but once she gets enough she is DONE man!), loves daisies… and Tom Hanks plays the love interest. Ummm YES.

AGAIN. THE ISFJ’S LOVE INTEREST READ PRIDE & PREJUDICE FOR HER. Boys, take note.

mia thermopolis from the princess diaries

Goofy. Clumsy… very intelligent. And every time I watch the movie, Mia’s princess transformation really inspires me. On a side note, as Jane Austen (who’s not a fictional character, just a writer of them, but whatever) and Mia Thermopolis, Anne Hathaway has played two ISFJ’s. (Becoming Jane is THE BEST movie ever, just sayin’.)

so what’s your myers-briggs personality type??! and what fictional characters are like you? and tell me: are you as interested in personality types as me? aren’t they the coolest?

  1. I was curious about personality types not to long ago and I took a test at 16personalities.com and my results said “The Protagonist” ENFJ. I took a couple other tests and they all said the same thing!
ENFJ’S are passionate, charismatic, empathetic and make up two percent of the population, I may not be as rare as an Emily, but my name fits me because it means unique! 😉
Some people I know are ENFJ’s are Jennifer Lawrence, Morgan Freeman, and Johny Depp.
Its so cool that all my favorite characters such as mia and meg are isfj’s just like you!!
I loved this post!! Super creative! 😀

    1. I can definitely see that, Izel! Just like me, except the extroverted part! I always find that my friends offline are extroverted… I guess opposites attract; the more quiet vs. outgoing type. 🙂
      Haha yes you are!
I know, I love it! Thanks Izel. 🙂

  2. Okay so I took the test and got INFJ. What does it stand for by the way? Anyways I was sort of expecting to get that however I wasn’t sure.
I’m still thinking about Winter…. literally one of the best books I’ve read this year. So good.
I’m still getting use to my hair… I’m still surprised I cut it so much. Wait till you see it 😉

    1. Yay, we’re Myers-Briggs personality buddies! 🙂 Hilarious how so many people who have commented on this – you, Lu, and Amanda – are all INFJ’s like me.
Haha. I know what you mean. It’s like you’re still living in that world.
I can’t believe it either! I love it though. When I chopped my hair off, it felt sooo weird for a while. But I love it light and short now. Much easier to maintain, but I can still pull it up when I need to.

  3. WHAT. I’m an INFJ too! And my BFF is an ISFJ, haha! Anyway. What a creative post! I love all these characters. XD And I have yet to watch Gilmore Girls (or read P&P. I’m horrible. I know. But I have a hardbound gold-page copy to read, so I will read it soon!). 😛

    1. Wow, crazy! It seems several girls who have commented on this post are INFJ’s! (You, Brooke, and Lu!) I guess INFJ’s are commonly bookworms. So funny! Thanks. I thought so, lol. Oh you need to! Fair warning: I’ve discovered a common theme in Gilmore Girls since writing this post…. a very laid-back attitude towards dating and relationships. 🙁 My mom has been watching with me so we can fast forward some parts/where they talk about stuff… *sigh* But P&P is amazing and you definitely need to read it! No worries about content in that. In their time, the men see your ankles and *gasp* have to marry you! XD

  4. Also, I just finished Matched by Allie Condie. Have you read the other books in the trilogy? I’ve heard they’re not as good, but I was just wondering. 🙂

When will you update Love, Emma? I cannot wait for the next part 🙂

  5. I’m an ISFJ too! 😀 love Lizzie Bennet. I didn’t know she was an ISFJ.
There are a few characters I really like with my type. If you’ve ever seen While You Were Sleeping, both MCs are ISFjs there. 🙂
