stacking the shelves #2

Stacking the Shelves in a book meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It’s all about sharing the books you’ve read/gotten this week, virtual or physical.

This week I bought The Red Umbrella by Christina Diaz Gonzalez, I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak, and “Best Kept Secret,” the third in the Family Tree series by Ann M. Martin. I borrowed Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell from my local library.

I finished Fangirl already (go check out the review!), and I’m currently reading “I am the Messenger.” I’m really excited about reading this one, because I’ve wanted to for a long time! I got it for 20% off at Target yesterday (the total was around nine bucks), and then picked out The Red Umbrella among several others that looked good at Barnes & Noble.

I’ve actually had Best Kept Secret for a while now; it came in the mail along with Dash & Lily, but I decided to read Fangirl first so it was put on hold for a bit. That being said, I loved it!! I can’t wait until the fourth (and final) book in the series comes out. It’s definitely one of my favorites! =)

Well, that’s my Stacking the Shelves for today! Have a great week, everyone!

P.S. I meant to post this yesterday, but I posted Fangirl and the long post about the Liebster award (Eeekk! I’m still so happy!!) and didn’t want to bombard everyone with three new posts =) SO the next Stacking the Shelves will be on a Saturday, I promise. 😉

  1. Eek! The books look fabulous. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy Fangirl, but the others look amazing! I hope you enjoy them all, particularly Best Kept Secret. Enjoy!

    1. I actually just finished Best Kept Secret – it was great 😉 I’m sorry, too, about Fangirl, but at least I’m not lost when my friends “fangirl” (hahahaha had too ;)) over it, and I can offer my input!

  2. I really liked Fangirl! A lot more then Eleanor and Park too (though that was adorable, just a little slow…hehe). I want to read SOMETHING by Markas Zusak eventually. Gah! I feel very behind, since The Book Thief is so famous these days. 😉

    1. Oh, you should absolutely read Markus Zusak!! He’s AMAZING! I cried like a baby over The Book Thief, and so far I’m loving “I am the Messenger.” He’s really an incredible writer 🙂

  3. MARKUS ZUSAK THOUGH. Seriously, man, can he even get any more amazing? Can’t wait for your review on I Am the Messenger – I’ve been considering buying that one for a loooong time, but I’ve kind of gone way past my book buying limit for this month (five books, but in my defense, two of them were for school!), so maybe later on. 😉

    1. IKR?! No, he really can’t. Lol, I pretty much completely blew all my money, too – and I still took advantage of the library 😀 I’ve wanted I am the Messenger forever, too, so I’m sooo happy to have finally gotten it!!

  4. I looooove I Am the Messenger. It’s lesser-known compared to The Book Thief, but I really really love it. And Fangirl is fantastic as well. Unlike Cait, I liked Eleanor and Park better, but Rainbow Rowell just writes really well in general.

    Happy reading! 😀
