my bucket list // lists, lists, & more lists

Hi, everyone! I love to make lists. Who doesn’t? They’re so fun to do! I made a list of all the things on my bucket list – some of them are silly, and some are more important. =)

emily

  • Be in a food fight.
  • Go to Bath, England.
  • Ride a zip line.
  • Get high school credits for blogging.
  • Read 100 classics in 1 year.
  • Raise money for a charity important to me.
  • Learn to whistle.
  • Learn to roll my tongue.
  • Publish of a book. (Of course.)
  • Perfect some hair styles.
  • Find (and bake) a recipe for cake batter cookies.
  • Get a college degree for English Literature.
  • Have a movie marathon day.

So that’s my rather silly bucket list! What’s on yours?

xx, Emily

  1. I don’t really have a bucket list. Here are a few things I want to do though: go to england and visit a bunch of book related places, start a blog, be good in school, be more helpful to my mom and others, get better at french, read a bunch of classics. Thats a few things I want to do. My sister is a english teacher and I always thought that would be fun to do. I have always considered being a librarian too. English literature sounds right up my alley. What kind of job would you get for english literature? I think being a book reviewer for a newspaper or a magazine would be fun too. I also have lately been lately thinking about looking into working at a publishing place. I don’t know what degree you would have to get for that. If I move to wisconsin when my dad retires me and my cousin plan on writting a book together. We don’t have all the details worked out yet. We were thinking that each of us could be in charge of different chapters and we could just trade the book back and forth. I absoulutely truly LOVE your blog. I wish you would do more top ten tuesdays. Those were cool. I also like your Friday ramblings. I enjoy all your book reviews too. I know what ever you read and rate well will be good and clean. You and your blog are FABULOUS, darling. Keep on writing.

    1. Your bucket list sounds awesome! 🙂 Some of the jobs people get with an English Lit degree are media & journalism, publishing (like you said 🙂 ), teaching (I would love to help kids learn to read one day), and even advertising (being able to make a persuasive argument is a huge part of writing. I think I could see myself in advertising.) That’s so sweet that you and your cousin could write a book together. I would definitely read it! My sister and I have talked about co-writing a book together someday. (We’re three years apart, and with my writing skills and my sister’s wild imaginations, my mom says we’re the perfect duo! ;)) Thank you so, so, SO much for your kind comments, Brooke! They’re always so, so sweet and I hope you know they always make me smile!! 😀

      1. Aww. Thanks. Yeah, for the book we were thinking of going every other chapter( I do one she does one) sice we probably won’t have much time to write together. My cousin is so awesome. Me and my sister are 2 years apart. Wow. That english literature sounds like something I want to do. I have had a movie marathon. I once on new years we started watching movies at 1 and didn’t stop till midnight. We played games while we watched and it was fun.

        1. You should totally do that. I’ve heard of a couple of authors who did it that way. I think it’s really cool. 🙂 Are you the oldest sister or youngest? Awww, that does sound like a lot of fun!! I would really love to do that sometime with my friends.

          1. Yeah. I think it would be fun. I’m the older sister. She’s ten and I’m twelve( almost thirteen). Oh by the way i sent another letter to heather. I also included two drawings. I deckorated the envelope, and the letter. I hope she likes it.

          2. I’m the older sister, too. My sister will be ten in February and I’m 13, so it sounds like we’re almost the same distance apart from our sisters. You did? I did, too, a few weeks ago. I haven’t sent her a letter in a while. 🙂

  2. Yes, come to Bath! I’m at university here, and it’s so pretty. I’m in love with the place. 🙂 It’s definitely worth visiting! I don’t think I could ever ride a zip line though – I’m way to scared of heights. :/ Your list is amazing though! Now I’m tempted to figure out what would be on my bucket list…

    1. No way! I’ve always wanted to visit. Especially the Jane Austen Centre. I’m daydreaming about it right now… 😉 Don’t get me wrong, I’m really chicken on roller coasters. But the funny thing is, I hate the part when the roller coaster takes you up! The drop-down isn’t so bad. But seriously, I’m the definition of scaredy-cat, and I’ll even admit it. I think a zip line would be really cool to do to prove that wrong. 😀 Thank you!!

  3. My bucket list:
    -Perform on Broadway
    -Publish a book (or two?)
    -Meet Sutton Foster
-Finally write something on my typewritter
-Star in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Bonnie & Clyde, or Side Show
    -Attend John Brown University
    -Do theatre through college
    -Be an inspiration

    1. Hey, Hayden! Your list doesn’t surprise me. When we’re both famous for our books and you for your acting, we’ll be able to be like “Yeah, I knew her when we were kids!” 😉 You have a typewriter and have never written on it??! What kind? I’ve always wanted one!

  4. I would never ever ride a zipline. Ever. I am way too scared of heights to do that. Publishing a book is on my bucket list as well, and hopefully someday it’ll happen. I would really like to get published as a teen, but I’m not sure how plausible that is right now. Also, reading 100 classic books in a year would be pretty fun, but I don’t think I would have time to do it while I’m still in school. I hope you update us when you accomplish these items!

    1. Really? I’m terrified of roller coasters, but the height part never bothers me. (Isn’t that strange?) About getting a book published, the same goes for me as well. It would be pretty awesome to get published as a teen, but if I don’t, it’s not the end of the world. I just hope I get one published. 😉 Oh, honestly, reading 100 classics in a year will not be happening this year. Maybe one year when I’m out of school, lol. But that’s a while now. 🙂

  5. I’ve never written down my bucket list (I really should), but I have too many to list in this comment. My top couple are to publish a book, (hopefully when I’m a teen, but we’ll see if that happens or not) meet my favorite author, and go to a writer’s conference. 🙂

    1. Those sound great! They’re all on my things-to-do, too. I really should have put meet my favorite author on my bucket list. I’ve never even been to a book signing! (That would be something to put on my new year’s resolutions this year. It’s still January, so it’s not too late, right? 😉 )

  6. I sent a letter a few weeks ago too. Lol. I just Love writing letters. I wish I had a few pen pals. The only peeson I write often to is my cousin. I want more pen pals. I was thinking of writing to people were I live now when I move.

    1. Me, too! 🙂 I’ve always wanted a pen pal, and I don’t really have friends who lives far enough away from me to write letters to. I’ve seen several pen pal programs, where you turn in an application about yourself and then you get paired with someone with similar interests, but I’ve never done one before. 😉

      1. I know me too. I always have wondered how safe it is. I don’t have many friends that live far away either. I love receiving letters though. Its so exciting. And I dont get many.

  7. I did a food fight once. It really isn’t as fun as people say it is. Plus, it sucks to get mashed potatoes out of hair. *shudders*

YOU CAN GET CREDIT FOR BLOGGING IN HIGH SCHOOL?! What? This is new to me and I am excited for this! Also, 100 classics. Dude, I can’t even read like one without wanting to throw my head into a wall like a bird. Good luck. [Well, it’s because I don’t like them but if you do, it’s perfectly possible]

I don’t hav a bucketlist, but I guess if I did, something that would be on there would be to ride a motorcycle. I’m boring, I know 🙂

    1. Really? 😉 I guess it’s a novelty, lol.

YES, I KNOW RIGHT? I saw it on Pinterest. I need to go back and look into that. 😉 Haha, well, I like classics, but that won’t happen for quite a while. If at all. Like I said, some are more realistic than others. 🙂 No, that’s not boring at all! I’ve actually done that before. My grandpop took me riding. It’s a blast!

  8. I don’t really have a bucket list. Because Bucket list means, “Before I die” and I’m not even close to dyeing so I just call it things I want to do in life.
    -Design my own Fashion line
    -Produce a movie
-Get one of my books published
    -Be a youtuber
    -Open a bakery
    -Learn how to decorate cakes
    -Go to culinary school
-Hold an Office for the Government
    -Travel
    —–
I have a chance to do all these things and I am so excited, My sister loves being in front of the camera doing DIY things, so she could help me with “Being a Youtuber” All of these things are in the works, and I can’t wait! I’m learning Government from my parents, I’m making plans for a new movie, and everything else is working out nicely 🙂

  9. First of all, I just want to say how awesome it is to find another blogger my age 🙂 Most of them are 18, or 21, so you are amazing *high fives*

Publishing a book? On my list definitely.

Wonderful goals. 100 classics sounds goods – though I would just keep reverting to YA 😀
