Stacking the Shelves in a book meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It’s all about sharing the books you’ve read/gotten this week, virtual or physical.
This is such a pitiful post. I mean, really. I had four books in my last STS and now I have two. From the last Stacking the Shelves. Because, you seeee…. Wednesday was my last day of school (I knooowww that’s not an excuse) and I went swimming twice! (Yippee! More on that later.) And I went out to eat with my family last night (keep talking, Emily.) Annnnddd. I. I…
BUUUT. Wait. We will not be sad forever. Becaauuuseee I am half way through I Am the Messenger!
See? Seee? I brought it with me to the pool yesterday. I’m about half way through and LOVE IT. (Don’t hold me to it, later, though, it just depends how it ends.)
SO. I am half way through I am the Messenger and then I’ll begin reading The Red Umbrella. And theeenn I’ll got to the library and/or Barnes & Noble. (Probably the library. Since I’m kinda-sorta broke.)
What about you guys? What books have you read/are reading this week?
Ooooh, I LOVE I Am the Messenger. Everyone’s read The Book Thief but not many have read that one. And I love it! It’s so different. And Markus Zusak went to the same high school as my dad – they were a couple of years apart. And that’s my claim to fame. Lol. Happy reading 😀
Really? That’s so cool! Hey, fame through association, right? 🙂
I’m sorry you didn’t get a chance to buy many books this week, Emily. But I’m so glad that you’re enjoying “I Am The Messenger”. Markus Zusak is a genius, no?
Einstein in writing, indeed. 😀
I hate myself for still not having read The Book Thief… and now I’m seeing another Markus Zusak book (which seems to have been there all along but left unnoticed) and it sounds as interesting as The Book Thief… it’s different but interesting :3
Happy Reading~
It is! 🙂 Very different from The Book Thief, but you can tell it’s the same style of writing.
I’m glad to hear that I Am the Messenger is written in the same style as The Book Thief. I just finished The Book Thief and I loved it. The description and imagery were pure gold.

They weeeeree though! I just really can’t describe Zusak’s writing because it’s sooo incredibly amazing. I’m sure he could, though! He’s so eloquent with his words.
I can’t really describe his writing either. I’m trying to write a book review of The Book Thief for my blog right now and I just don’t know how to express the amazingness of his description and imagery. He has such a strong voice, but I can’t put a name on it; I can only feel it.

Aw, it’t not pitiful to have just a few books! It’s kind of good actually, because it means your not drowning in a TBR. XD I’m working on NOT borrowing/buying/requesting at the moment, because I’ve been feeling super overwhelmed. >_< Books need to be fun, not "omg, my tbr is going to fall on me and kill me". XD lol
Lol, it got that overwhelming? 😛 Well, good for you! That would be like giving up chocolate for me. And chocolate is… chocolate is chocolate. 😀 Plus I just remembered there’s this book on my Kindle that ended up being a DNF. I’m going to pick up where I left off and keep going!
