I Need Books Again. (Hello, Internet, I’m Still Here!)

Hello, internet! Long time no talk. I haven’t blogged since September because I’ve been positively swamped. I love all of the activity this fall has brought with it, but there hasn’t been much time to slow down and write about it. School, bonfires, lots of getting-together with friends, baking, vet visits, shopping, errands, more school, piano lessons and festivals, novel-writing… never a dull moment lately. πŸ™‚

I can’t promise consistent blogging until life slows down a little, but I’ll try my best to post at least once a week. (And I still love chatting with you guys even if I’m not blogging, so email me through my contact page anytime.)Β If you have any blog topic suggestions, let me know! What do you want to read about?

I’ve been struggling to think of blog topics I could tackle when I finally had a minute to sit down and write this and finally decided to share the books I’ve been dying to read. I’ve gotten behind on my school reading so my leisure reading has been pushed to the side for now. (Hopefully over Christmas break I can get caught up!) But my TBR isΒ alwaysΒ growing. Have you read any of these books or do you want to?

– Jane Austen, The Secret Radical by Helena Kelly

– Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse

– Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott

– The Bookshop On The Corner by Jenny Colgan

– A Portrait of Emily Price by Katherine Reay

– The Sweetness by Sande Boritz Berger

– The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure

– Miss Emily by Burleigh Muten

I look forward to talking to you guys below! Here’s well wishes for perfect fall weather wherever you are, and plenty of books to keep us busy. πŸ™‚

  1. Sounds like you’re having a fantabulous fall, Emily!! πŸ™‚ Good luck catching up on your reading challenge.

    Mega blessings to you!!

  2. I love Girl in the Blue Coat! I read it a few months ago and thought it was awesome. πŸ™‚
I miss your posts, but I completely understand life taking over! It’s happening to me right now too.
    Great post Emily!😊

    1. Aw, thank you Leia. πŸ™‚ I think that no matter who is President, Jesus is King. Psalm 27:3 says “Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.” I’m not worried, because my God has everything in His hands.

  3. I’d love to read Bird by Bird someday!! I’ve heard it’s pretty amazing. And yayyy that you’re having a lovely but busy life. πŸ˜€ Although all of that sounds kind of exhausting, eeep. πŸ˜‚ Have fun with all the busyness!

    1. Me too! It looks like gold for us writers. πŸ˜€ It *is* quite exhausting, lol. My introverted self is a little over socialized at the minute but I shall conquer it. πŸ˜‚ Thanks, Cait. πŸ™‚

    1. I’M ALIVE I’M ALIVE I PROMISE.

I miss you guys toooo! Time is so limited these days. *le sigh* reality is a thing that only gets in the way of books and the internet, i’m convinced of it.

  4. However, it is still important to vote and be educated on the candidates’ stances on issue. Democracy allows us to have the right to vote, and many people have sacfriced their lives in order for us to be able to do this. Being an educated voter is really important. Happy Veterans Day!

    1. I agree. πŸ™‚ As Americans, it is liberating to have the freedom of letting our vote count! Educating yourself as a voter and letting your voice heard – no matter what culture or religion or race you come from – is definitely important in our democratic system. Happy (late) Veterans Day to you, too, Leia! Thanks for your comments. πŸ˜‰

    1. Yes! It is very cool; I love them. Most recently I’ve been practicing “Let It Snow” (Christmas carols are my favorite to play on the piano!), “Minuet in A Minor” and a song called “Rainbow Prelude,” which is so beautiful and fun to learn. I’m playing the latter two in a competition in February and I’m really excited about it. πŸ™‚
