Hello, there! I’m Emily. Welcome to my little corner of the internet, for the bookish.
I’m sixteen years old and live near Atlanta, Georgia. I love Jesus, cats, chocolate, and… if you haven’t already guessed, BOOKS! I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember. In 2014, I discovered the magnificent world of book blogs. Right away I begged my dad (a professional web designer) to help me create my own. Since then, I’ve not only been an avid bookworm but an avid book reviewer. Even if I don’t write a review for every book I read, I love reading what others have to say about books I love or am interested in. I’m almost always active on my bookstagram, @emilyisbookish.
Literature sparks discussion. I believe it’s hard to come by a greater immediate bond than the one formed by readers.
My favorite genre is historical fiction. The Book Thief, Salt to the Sea, The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, The Help, All The Light We Cannot See, and anything by Karen White are just a few of my favorites. I also like contemporary fiction and I’ll read middle grade, young adult, or adult fiction.
When I’m not reading, I sometimes write my own fiction! My dream is to be a published author or even own an independent bookstore one day (a la The Shop Around The Corner. “You’ve Got Mail,” anyone? 🙂 ). In the meantime, I play piano and Netflix-binge like it’s my profession.
I can’t wait to get to know you and talk books! After all, the blog is for the bookish. 😉
Your friend,
Emily
