IT’S FOR THE BOOKISH’S BIRTHDAY!!! + MY FIRST GIVEAWAY

It’s SO hard to believe I’ve been blogging on For the Bookish for ONE WHOLE YEAR! It feels like just yesterday I asked my dad to help me set up my blog URL and find a good design for it. (I still think my blog design is the coolest ever. It pays off to have a web designer for a dad.) =)

When I first started blogging on For the Bookish, I wanted to talk about books I was reading and meet girls with similar book interests. That’s still the main purpose of For the Bookish, but I would have never guessed how much I would have grown to love blogging. In my mom’s words, it’s become sort of like my outlet.

I love talking to everyone who comments on my blog, and following other book blogs like mine. Because of For the Bookish, I’ve found so many great books to read and so many great friends, all over the world! (Including getting my first pen pal through the blog- which is so awesome because I’ve always wanted one and now I have the best pen pal ever!)

So thanks to everyone who takes the time to leave a comment, or read a post. Thanks for telling me about great books to read and giving me a place to ramble and be silly and still take me seriously. 🙂 I’ve had a fantastic year blogging on For the Bookish, and I hope I will for many more years to come!

To thank you all, I’m hosting my FIRST EVER giveaway on For the Bookish!! I’m giving away a $15 Barnes & Noble gift card to the winner. Enter below! =)

  1. I’m so excited! Again the shout out to me. Do you want me to turn completely red? If so you have completed your mission.
How do you enter? Can you explain it to me? I’ve only ever entered for a few giveaways and only ever won one. I don’t have facebook, pinterest, or twitter.I would LOVE to enter for this giveaway.
(these are the answers for the questions you asked on your last post). I leave tomorrow. I didn’t get the letter today but I’ll make sure to.check for it tomorrow. Do you still read from the mixed up files? They have a lot of giveaways. I quite like that blog.
I have to get ready for the play dress rehearsal and our first performance! I hope everything goes smoothly. I’m really worried about my solos.

    1. Never mind. I see how to enter for the giveaway! I’m so excited! as soon as I ask my mom if I can I will enter as many times as I can.

    2. Lol! Yep. By the time I’m done with you, you’ll be Bob the Tomato. 😉
Okay, so since you don’t have Facebook (I don’t either, I only have Pinterest), all you have to do is click “Use Your Email” and enter your name and email address. (So I can contact you if you win the giveaway.) Then you click the little drop down arrow for each entry, and it will further explain how you can enter. You already commented, so that’s one entry, plus a free entry everybody can do. That’s 2 entries there. 🙂
I do! I’m subscribed to their blog. I really like it, too. I haven’t entered any of their giveaways yet, though.
I hope it does go smoothly! I’m sure it will. 🙂 It’s so cool that you’ve been in so many plays. I would never have the guts to get on stage like that. Plus if there’s one thing I’m not, it’s a singer, lol.

  2. Eek! Congratulations, Emily! I love reading your blog, and learning you’re a fan of Heather Vogel Frederick too. *homeschoolers unite*
Anyway, I am very happy for you 🙂 Never stop blogging lol

      1. I honestly think we do xD You’re learning Latin too, right? I’m in my 2nd year of learning it 😛 (those declensions and conjugations are tough lol)
I’m curious, how do you homeschool? Through online courses or by text book?

        1. Yep. It’s my first year… I don’t like it that much. :-/ Ugh. Don’t get me started on all the conjugations. I thought all we had to know was the declensions! I had no idea before this year there was so much to learning a new language!
Text book. 🙂 I do Classical Conversations, so once a week I go to a home-school group and my tutor walks me and about ten other kids my age through everything we need to do for the week. 😉

          1. I don’t want to add too many comments to your post lol, but I totally agree. I learn Latin and my other courses through online school, so it’s a little more interactive. I like learning it only because the course includes mythology (Percy Jackson prepared me xD) and Roman history. But there’s so many things to remember! But Latin is probably the best language to learn, I think.
That’s really neat actually! (Reminds me of Rome lol. The tutor would walk their students to school xDD) I need to find a homeschool group, I only started this year 😛

  3. Happy blog birthday! *throws confetti* I know I don’t comment on here much (something that I really must change) but I’ve been following via email for some time now and your posts are always such a pleasure to read. 🙂
